Jiang shan mei ren (An Empress and the Warriors) (2008)

A very pleasant movie about how to balance the emotions and the voice of reason so as not to lose people we love

The right action speed,  interesting shots, music, sounds, costumes, make-up, filming of fighting and nature. perfect actors (Kelly Chen, Donnie Yen, Leon Lai) - all these elements work together beautifully and complement each other.

I really like the figure of the young empress (Kelly Chen) as a ruler with a great sense of justice, and at the same time in love, which, unfortunately, in the case of the empress, may end badly. It can be seen primarily in scenes where the she does not want to fight with King Zhao (Shan Zhang), and talks about finding a solution to any problems on the road to peace. And the second scene is when she leaves Duan Lan Quan (Leon Lai) and returns to her people - just listen, what the ruler of the nation says!
Yes, if empress had not met Duan Lan Quan in her life, she would not have loved him... and she would not have lost him soon after.

I liked the way of 3 scenes filming
1) balloon flight - such a very fairytale, so sweet
2) the fight between Lan Quan and Muyong Xuehu - long shots of the beauty of nature and choreography of the fight (extra plus for the fight in the water, which gives super effect, and is not easy for the actors)
3) the last fight of Muyong Xuehu which finishes with his death (and this is the third big loss of Yen Feier, first was her father) - realized with great momentum.

This is a really cool, well-made movie, sometimes witty (especially when the empress learns to fight, or does not want to be treated properly by Duan Lan Quan), and with good dialogue, at which boredom does not threaten.
